“Absolutely brilliant, I would recommend it to anyone. It is worth every penny. There aren’t the words to express how great it is to be able to see clearly without needing glasses, I will never take good sight for granted again. I have more confidence now I can see properly, but the biggest difference is when I go swimming, as I can see further than the end of the pool and aren’t worried about swimming into someone, also I take my children more and can see where they are more easily .

My field of vision is greatly improved as is my night vision.

A year ago I first started to think how good it would be to be able to see properly without glasses, but I never thought I would be able to go through with it, because I was scared that something would go wrong. As I am on a low income I didn’t think I would be able to afford it either, so entered the draw a couple of times to see if I could win free surgery.

After the consultation and I learned how much it would cost. I went away to consider whether I felt I could afford it, and was given time to think it through without being pressured. In the end, I decided that I would go ahead, and I am so glad that I managed to find the courage to go ahead with the surgery because I was terrified that something may go wrong, and it also worried me that I would be awake during the surgery.

The staff were great throughout, and never tired of listening to my concerns and reassuring me that it was normal to feel as I did, and that it would all be OK, which it was. The after care is superb, and it is reassuring that my eyes have healed well. It is now 9 months since my surgery and it has improved my life in so many ways.

I had worn glasses for 34 years and I don’t miss wearing them at all. I would say to anyone considering surgery to go for it, you won’t regret it.”
